Hello, Flight Crew!

Hello!

I’m E.M. Wynne—author, founder of Yellow Rocket Press, Speech-Language Pathologist, and lifelong believer in the magic of children’s stories.

I created Yellow Rocket Press with a simple mission: to launch imagination through stories filled with adventure, wonder, and heart. As someone who has always loved books, creativity, and meaningful storytelling, I wanted to build more than just a publishing label—I wanted to create a world that inspires children to dream bigger, explore boldly, and fall in love with reading.

My debut picture book, Never Trust a Wobbly Broom, combines cozy autumn charm, humor, and whimsical adventure—three things I never seem to outgrow myself. Autumn has always been my favorite season, and if I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me planning a trip to Chicago, drinking something warm, or spending time with my dog, Kai.

Before entering the world of publishing, I spent years helping others find their voices through my work as a Speech-Language Pathologist. That experience deeply shaped the way I think about storytelling. Language has the power to connect, comfort, encourage, and spark confidence in children—and that belief is at the heart of everything I create.

I’m also a member of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) and Northern California Publishers & Authors, where I continue learning about the craft of children’s publishing and connecting with fellow creatives.

When I started Yellow Rocket Press, I knew I wanted it to feel imaginative, welcoming, and full of possibility—a place where stories could grow into something bigger than books alone. Whether through picture books, activities, school visits, or future adventures still waiting to launch, my hope is that every child who visits Yellow Rocket Press leaves feeling inspired to imagine a little more boldly.
